Nicole McCabe / Dan Rossi Duo
Nicole McCabe is an alto saxophonist and resident of Portland who grew up in the Bay Area. Her influences on saxophone are wide ranging from swing,bebop,and contemporary and plays in many varieties of settings. This evening at Kex she will be joined by drummer Dan Rossi, who some would call one of the most diverse drummers in the Portland music community. Dan’s technique and interpretation of the drums brings a new thought process to the role of this instrument, as well as the depth of his compositions. Through loose compositions and freely improvised pieces, this duo hopes to achieve honesty and communication through their music.

Dan Sasaki (percussion) and Stephanie Lavon Trotter (electro-acoustic voice) create out-of-this-world sonic landscapes through free-improvisation and open scores bringing together their shared experiences in experimental noise, free-improv, Opera, and performance art.
