Sister Mamie Foreskin

Sister Mamie Foreskin began in 2011 as a way for sound engineering students Nicholas Swartz, Jubel Brosseau and Aaron Salomon to practice recording at home. Soon bassist Bobbie Yeo stepped in and the material quickly gelled. With influences ranging from Dub and Reggae to Noise Rock, Psychedelic Funk and House music, the band began playing basement shows and small venues around Portland, honing some material with practice, while allowing other material to morph with every practice and performance, as a way to keep things fresh.

As much fun as they were having with keyboards, samplers, guitar and bass, the band dreamed of the versatility and richness a good drummer would provide to the material, and were delighted when Two Crows Fighting and Electro Kraken drummer TJ Thompson, as well as saxophonist Sean Barry accepted the invitation to join. Now as a six member core band, Sister Mamie Foreskin is on a roll, and proud to bring their noisy, funky, surreal and slinky groove to the CMG Outset series.
