Justin Persichetti

By using unconventional sounds Justin explores the possibilities and combinations of percussion instruments and how they can be used to tell stories. Each performance is its own unique moment shared between the audience and performer. Justin aims to educate people and expand their own knowledge of what music is and how it can be created. His musical voice is made up of a variety of unique sounds listed below to give one an idea of the scope of his palette.

Justin’s Sound Palette: Marimba, Glockenspiel, almglocken bells, hanging bells, small splash cymbal, fruit bowl, singing bowl, boat propeller, prepared snare drum, kalimba, electronic guitar, looper pedal, hand drums, shakers, toy piano, voice, floor tom, triangle, rain gutters, etc. Justin’s music is highly influenced by composers such as John Cage, Bill Cahn, Michael Burritt, Casey Cangelosi, Robyn Schulkovsky, Steve Reich, and Glenn Kotche. Justin graduated from The Eastman School of Music in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Percussion Performance and a Performer’s Certificate honoring excellence in live performance. He currently lives in Portland, OR where he teachers, composes, and performs.
