Mike Gamble is an adventurous guitarist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work draws on extended performance techniques, improvisation, and emerging technologies. Approaching music as a vehicle for multi-layered expression, he moves fluidly between melody and abstraction, precision and risk.
A graduate of the New England Conservatory, Gamble developed a formidable technical command of guitar and acoustic instruments before expanding his practice to include MIDI systems, audio-reactive software, and interactive technologies. For over two decades, he has been a vital presence in the creative jazz, experimental rock, and improvised music scenes across North America and Europe. He has performed and toured extensively at festivals including Saalfelden Jazz Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, NYC Winter Jazzfest, and SXSW, and has collaborated with artists such as Shahzad Ismaily, Bobby Previte, Todd Sickafoose, Nels Cline, Wayne Horvitz, Matt Chamberlain, Laura Veirs, Dana Reason, Lori Goldston, and Gabriel Kahane’s Oregon Symphony Open Music Orchestra.
Gamble has recorded on more than 50 albums spanning a wide range of genres. His critically acclaimed guitar trio The Inbetweens, with bassist Noah Jarrett and drummer Conor Elmes, has released five albums. After earning an MA in Interdisciplinary Art from Oregon State University, he further expanded his work to include immersive live sound and video performance, and co-founded They Gamble, an experimental new-media collaboration with filmmaker Devin Jane Febbroriello. He also performs regularly in Portland with his groups 2uo, Neighbors, TWANS and GAMSIM that feature Machado Mijiga, Garret Baxter, Noah SImpson, Mike Lockwood, and Andrew Jones
Mike Gamble is the Artistic Director of Portland’s long-standing experimental music organization, the Creative Music Guild. He also serves as a Contemporary Music Industry instructor at Oregon State University and teaches guitar at Reed College.

Devin Jane Febbroriello’s work explores how we find our sense of belonging, connection, and power in a world full of complex struggles, and how our orientation to the challenges of our lives drives our actions and informs our beliefs. Her films center on evocative characters that blaze bold paths through emotionally potent and thematically rich circumstances. Her stories tend to be centered on women, dysfunctional-yet-lovable relationship dynamics, surreal multi-genre plots, and thought provoking existential humor. Devin’s practice is informed by a fierce love of traditional cinematic storytelling mixed with her deep-seated interest in films’ unique capacity to poetically investigate the human condition and connect us in both the beauty and the sorrows of life.
She was named one of the Top 25 screenwriters to watch in 2025 by the International Screenwriters Association and invited onto the ISA 2025/2026 Development Slate. She has written/directed + produced award-winning music videos and short films that have screened at SXSW, Dances With Films, Pitchfork, Cinequest, Filmfort, BUFF Malmo, Nashville Film Festival, NewFilmmakers Los Angeles, Venice VR Expanded, Tacoma Film Festival, Portland Film Festival, Bend Film Festival, Stereogum, Rolling Stone, and more. She is a RACC Project Grant/Innovation Prize recipient 2026 + 2020, a Arts 3C Grant 2023 recipient, Oregon Film Impact Grant recipient 2025, as well as a Lucas Artist Fellowship Collaborator 2017-2020. Her pilot script for the episodic series “Blood is Thicker” was a finalist in Screencraft TV Pilot Script Competition, and her feature script “Kathleen’s Sound Bath” was an Austin Film Festival 2024 Second Rounder, a Script Lab Semi-Finalist, and was ranked in the top 1% of scripts on Coverfly in the drama category.
She received her Bachelor of Art in film from Emerson College, attended specialized cinema studies at FAMU (Czech Republic), and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Screenwriting through the David Lynch School of Cinematic Arts at Maharishi University.
In 2021 Devin partnered with Desert Island Studios to develop a full-service production company. She is a co-owner and the Head of Production at DIS, and leads both creative and operational production initiatives serving clients while supporting the next generation of up and coming talent from diverse backgrounds. Devin has been a media activist her entire career working with forward thinking organizations devoted to evolving the media industry to be more inclusive. She is proud to have utilized her grant writing skills to raise over 415k in funding for diversity focused programmatic work for arts organizations.
Born in the Northeast, currently living in the Northwest with her husband. She is a painter, poet, and folk herbalist in her spare time.
